Petrochemical, Chemical and Industrial Plants
MIESCOR provided development, detailed engineering, and construction supervision services for the DuPont Singapore Adi-pure Acid Project; detailed engineering design and project management for the Modernization of Joint terminal Facility (Shell, Caltex, and FPIC); detailed engineering for the National Starch and Chemical Company in Thailand, design of building facilities fot he Star Petroleum Refinery; construction supervision for the MK-ABS/SAN polymer Plant; detailed engineering for the USS Casthouse Project; detailed engineering and construction supervision for the Eveready China Labeling & Packaging Facility; and the various turnaround projects for the copper smelting facility of Philippine Associated Smelting and Refining Corporation.

Dupont Singapore Adipic Acid Project

This project is part of a comprehensive strategy by DuPont to develop a major presence in the Far East in its nylon enterprise business, particularly the nylon 6.6. The first phase of this strategy involved the construction of a 250 million pounds per year capacity of adipure adipic acid, one of the raw materials needed in the production of nylon 6.6. Located in Singapore, Jurong town, island of Pulau Sakra – reclaimed land, approximately 200 acres of the island’s 400 acres was needed for the project. The project was completed in December, 1994 for a cost of US $250 million.
MIESCOR participated in the development of the design package and was later tasked to prepare the detailed engineering of the outside battery limit (OSBL) and the utilities area.
In Singapore, MIESCOR’s participation to the project included construction management up to the final stages of the construction works.
Modernization of Joint Terminal Facility (Shell, Caltex and FPIC)
FPIC tasked MIESCOR to provide detailed engineering and project management in the modernization of joint terminal receiving facility in Pandacan, Manila fuel depot.
National Starch and Chemical Co.
MIESCOR was commissioned by MK-Siamtec, Ltd. to execute the design and detailed engineering of National Starch and Chemical Company's Tapioca Starch Plant at Kalasin, Thailand.
MIESCOR personnel consisting of architects, civil and mechanical engineers prepared the design and detailed engineering of the refinery, root preparation area, chemical storage area, reaction tank area, dryer and packing buildings.
MKBS
FPIC tasked MIESCOR to provide detailed engineering and project management in the modernization of joint terminal receiving facility in Pandacan, Manila fuel depot.
Star Petroleum Refinery Co. Ltd.
MIESCOR was commissioned by MK-Intertec to execute the architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical design of Star Petroleum Refining Co. Ltd’s six (6) building administrative complex, an area of approximately 9,650 square meters. MK-Intertec availed the technical services of Miescor
Mechanical, electrical and structural design work for the fire station, clinic, refinery entrance building and cafeteria were done by Miescor in Manila while the refinery office building, main office building and lobby including architectural conceptualization of all the buildings. were totally designed in Bangkok by Intertec and MIESCOR personnel.
National Starch and Chemical Co.
MIESCOR was commissioned by MK-Siamtec, Ltd. to execute the design and detailed engineering of National Starch and Chemical Company’s Tapioca Starch Plant at Kalasin, Thailand.
MIESCOR personnel consisting of architects, civil and mechanical engineers prepared the design and detailed engineering of the refinery, root preparation area, chemical storage area, reaction tank area, dryer and packing buildings.
MK-ABS/SAN Polymer Plant
MIESCOR provided MK-Thailand construction management services for their project with Monsanto Premier Kasei Co. Ltd. in Bangkok Thailand. MIESCOR personnel deployed to Thailand consisted of engineers with experience in structural design, project control, mechanical equipment and piping installation, electrical and material control.
USS Casthouse Project
The USS Casthouse Project is one of the twenty steel industry facility projects of Eichleay Engineers Inc. (EEI) USA where MIESCOR supported EEI by providing detailed engineering services in civil/structural, architectural, mechanical, piping, HVAC and electrical. Relatively low labor rates yet at par quality engineering capabilities are the advantages EEI obtained in contracting MIESCOR. Although the offices of MIESCOR and EEI are at the opposite sides of the world, communication and exchange of information were not a problem and that schedules were met on time. Exchange of information and transmittal of drawings from the Philippines to the USA and vice versa were done via e-mail and thru the use of File Transfer Protocol (FTP) Client Servers.
Eveready China Labeling by Packaging Facility
Eveready EBC Dragon Project and BHA Joint Venture
MK-Singapore now belonging to Washington Group International of companies is continuously being supported by MIESCOR thru the supply of manpower capable of performing detailed engineering and construction management in its projects in Thailand, Vietnam and China.
Among the MK projects MIESCOR got involved are Eveready’s China Labelling and Packaging Facility and EBC Dragon projects in China. In these projects MIESCOR supported MK by providing mechanical, electrical, civil and I & C engineers whose responsibilities vary from building assessment and upgrading but also detailed engineering and construction management. Most recent of the MK projects in China where MIESCOR got involved is the Boeing, Hexcel and Avic joing venture (BHA) whose facility will produce aircraft parts. In this project MIESCOR assisted MK by rendering engineering and construction management services for the electrical and mechanical works. MIESCOR also reviewed the drawings submitted by the local Chinese Design Institute, prepared specifications, evaluated bids and rendered field construction checking and supervision.
PASAR's Plant Turnaround Project
Philippine Associated Smelting and Refining Corporation (PASAR), owns and operates the Philipines' only copper smelter and refinery, located on the Leyte Industrial Development Estate, in Isabel, Leyte. Privatized in 1999, the company began rehabilitating its processing plant in 2002 to improve its efficiency. Contracts worth about P73 million and covering electrical and mechanical maintenance works, acid and smelter plants special projects, and main substation interconnection were awarded to MIESCOR. All works were completed on time and to the customer's express satisfaction.
