In a major leadership transition, MIESCOR proudly announces the appointment of Richard O. Ochava as its new President and CEO, ushering in a new era of leadership and innovation. Richard, or commonly known as “Boss Richard,” brings with him a rich history of dedication, determination, leadership, and exceptional industry expertise.

Ochava is a Registered Electrical Engineer who graduated from the Technical University of the Philippines (TUP). His rise from humble beginnings showcases his innate talent, resourcefulness, and passion. He started his career as an engineer way back in 1990 when he joined Meralco, the country’s largest distribution utility company and MIESCOR’s mother company. Over the years, his dedication and technical acumen led him to gradually climb up the career ladder until he assumed MIESCOR’s Chief Operating Officer position in 2019, providing invaluable support to the former President and CEO, Ronnie L. Aperocho. The two formed a dynamic duo, steering the company through challenging times and navigating the complexities of the pandemic. Their collaborative efforts and leadership resulted to an intensive increase in the revenues, achieving the company’s all-time high performance.

With a track record marked by impressive achievements, Richard O. Ochava made his name in the industry. Following a recent organizational restructuring, he was appointed as MIESCOR’s newest leader, succeeding Aperocho who was also promoted as the COO of Meralco. Given 33 years of immersed engineering experience in the construction, project management, contract management, and operations sector, garnered through his tenure at Meralco and MIESCOR, Ochava combines deep industry knowledge with exceptional technical skills, and collaborative leadership that espouses unity, mutual respect and malasakit within the team.

Ochava is poised to ensure a seamless continuation of the company’s operations and strategic direction, building upon the foundation laid by his predecessor, while creating his own legacy. He also vowed for MIESCOR’s clear path towards its vision of becoming a top-notch EPC company and a significant contributor to the nation’s sustainable growth and development.
