UAM-TELECOMMS BUILDING – GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY

MIESCOR attained a major milestone last June 15 when it laid the capsule and broke the ground for the construction of the building that will house the Utility Attachment Management (UAM) and TELECOMMS business units - the two promising units that will further drive the exponential growth of the company.

The UAM business unit was established last 2020 following Meralco's decision to spin-off to MIESCOR all foreign attachment related services and requirements to strategically respond to the growing demands of the telecommunication companies. UAM has also been tasked to address the urban blight issues related to the low-sagging and unsightly spaghetti wires. On the other hand, TELECOMMS Business Unit has expanded its market presence as it helps build and install the core networks and last-mile of leading telecommunication companies for many years now. UAM and TELECOMMS business units complement each other in many aspects and their growth are aligned with the pivotal expansion and build-up of the country’s telecommunications backbone and internet infrastructure. TELECOMMS also provides strong support to the roll-out of RED Broadband of Radius Telecomms, another Meralco subsidiary.

MIESCOR leaders along with key stakeholders from MERALCO graced the capsule laying and groundbreaking ceremony. This is the first office building to be owned by MIESCOR and it boosts of a spacious, conducive, functional, and energy-efficient designs. The building will be housing up to 165 employees. This will rise inside the Meralco Balintawak Stockyard, in Quezon City, Philippines, and is expected to be completed in February 2022.

Present in the ceremony were the following esteemed guests: Engr. Ronnie L. Aperocho (MIESCOR President & CEO, MERALCO - Head of Networks), Engr. Richard O. Ochava (MIESCOR COO), Engr. Martin F. Co (MIESCOR UAM Head), Engr. Quintin Y. Paredes (MIESCOR Telecommunications Head), Engr. Benjamin U. Cusi (MERALCO - Head of Facilities, Security and General Services), and Engr. Jose S.
